Sail Safari has been operating Sailing Charters on the Gippsland Lakes in Victoria for the past 10 years, offering a variety of experiences. From a full "learning to sail" adventure to a more sedate and relaxed canal cruise around the Paynesville estate.

 

The Victorian Gippsland Lakes region of Paynesville is a comfortable 3.5 hour drive from Melbourne and is a delightful paradise for anyone remotely interested in boats. It is simply perfect for relaxing in peaceful surroundings.

"Calypso" is a 34' fibre glass fractional rigged yacht. Designed by Robb Legg she features a drop keel (similar to that of a trailerable yacht) which enables Calypso to get to many shallow and beautiful parts of the Gippsland Lakes.

 

The Skipper of "Calypso", Doug Haynes lives in Paynesville and brings to Sail Safari years of nautical experience and local knowledge of the area to make your sailing adventure truly something to remember.

 

All sailing adventures are accompanied by a fully qualified Skipper with Coxswain Ticket and sailing endorsement. Adult and childrens life jackets are provided and Calypso can take a maximum of 11 passengers.
